MONTREAL- Bombardier has confirmed that its Global 8000 business jet set its first speed record on a flight from Montreal (YUL), Canada, to Nice (NCE), France. The aircraft completed the mission in just over six hours, carrying passengers to the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
The Global 8000 holds a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 8,000 nautical miles, which Bombardier positions as the fastest and most luxurious jet in the industry. The record on the Montreal to Nice route highlights the aircraft’s ultra-long-range capability and speed.
Bombardier Global 8000 First Speed
The Global 8000 transports passengers quicker, farther, and more efficiently than ever before, according to Bombardier. On this specific flight, the jet flew passengers from Canada to the south of France for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, completing the trip in a little over six hours.
The aircraft combines a Mach 0.95 top speed with a range of 8,000 nautical miles, a pairing Bombardier describes as setting the pace in the ultra-long-range class. Bombardier markets it as both the fastest and the most luxurious aircraft in the industry.

Cabin Comfort and Passenger Well-being
The Global 8000 offers the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation production at 2,691 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet.
This lower cabin altitude reduces the physiological stress linked to high altitude travel, helping passengers arrive feeling refreshed and ready to perform.
The aircraft also delivers an exceptionally smooth ride alongside its long-range reach and low cabin altitude. Together, these features support passenger comfort across extended flights.
Performance and Airport Access
Despite its size, the Global 8000 remains agile, with takeoff and landing performance comparable to that of a light jet.
Its advanced wing design features unique leading-edge slats, which allow customers to master up to 30% more airports than its closest rival.
This combination of speed, range, and airport access gives operators added flexibility on routes that other ultra-long-range jets cannot serve as easily.
Interior and Connectivity
The Global 8000 features four distinct, luxurious living spaces, including a full-size kitchen, designed to deliver comfort and convenience.
State-of-the-art connectivity options and ergonomic seating, including Bombardier’s signature Nuage seat, create an environment suited to both productivity and relaxation.
